A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
This issue of the ASA Newsletter traditionally features the annual reports of the Society's board and committees to inform the members of the past year's activities. Even a cursory glance at the workshops, grants to institutions, and the summary of the Board's work this year reveals how active the ASA was during 2003-2004. In addition to the annual reports, this issue features a tribute to Dr. Sandra Thomson as well as an article by Bonnie Woelk of the University of Calgary on the contribution of archival practices to records management theory.
In "news of the newsletter," editor Don Bourdon has resigned after three years at the helm. Since the Fall 2001 issue, he created an informative and eminently readable publication enjoyed and remarked upon by many members. The ASA thanks him for his service as editor and begins to search, not for a replacement, but a worthy successor.
