The City of Calgary Archives would like to share news on a number of staff changes.
Sarah Bleach is one of two new staff archivists working at The City of Calgary Archives. Previously, Sarah had worked at the Glenbow Archives.
Regina Landwehr is the second new staff archivist. Regina had previously worked at the University of Victoria as Records Manager/FOI Officer, and at the Provincial Archives of B.C. and the City of Surrey Archives as Staff Archivist.
Glennda Leslie finished her term as Olympic Archivist at the The City of Calgary Archives and is now a 'regular' staff archivist. Carol Stokes, the fourth staff archivist, joined the city archives last year.
Robson Agnew is the new Corporate Records Coordinator at The City of Calgary and also oversees the city archives. Rob was a FOIP Coordinator and Supervisor of Records Management at the Calgary Board of Education before joining The City.
Not to be left behind, the PAA would like to introduce some new staff too...
The Provincial Archives of Alberta welcomes Heather Home and Diane Bittman, who have recently joined the Provincial Archives Private Records Team.
Heather Home, a recent graduate of the MAS program out of the University of British Columbia, originally hails from Ontario. Heather will be working in the private records area with private manuscripts and some audio visual collections. She has admitted a penchant for audio visual materials but has quickly become an invaluable member of the team in private manuscripts as well. She has also become part of the archival community in Alberta by participating on the Education Committee of the Archives Society of Alberta. She does worry though about the "long dark Edmonton winters" and welcomes any suggestions on how to get through them.
Diane Bittman has chosen to transfer to the Provincial Archives of Alberta from the Office of the Deputy Minister of Community Development. She will be working in the Audio Visual area with the Private Records Program assisting Marlena Wyman, A-V Archivist, in the work associated with the varied and extensive holdings of photographic, moving image and sound archives at the Provincial Archives of Alberta. Diane's many years of experience in the government will be of great benefit to the Provincial Archives of Alberta and we are happy to welcome her to the Archives.
