KATE HAS EXPERIENCE WITH MANY HERITAGE ORGANIZATIONS

It is my pleasure to take on the role of Administrative Coordinator for the Archives Society of Alberta this fall! I am looking forward to working with many new and old friends with whom I have crossed paths over the past years.

This past few years I have been working with the Documentary Heritage Society of Alberta at the Provincial Archives in Edmonton -- a great group of volunteers who support the work and programs of the PAA! During my time with that Society, I have had the chance to meet with many of Alberta's archivists and become somewhat familiar with the concerns of our archival community. I am presently working as Executive Director half-time for the Friends of Geographical names of Alberta -- another small yet vital organization that promotes awareness of our naming heritage!

I have called Alberta home since 1980. From Ontario originally, my husband and i moved to Calgary that year and i worked for several years coordinating the docent program at Glenbow Museum. since those boom years of the early 80's, we have lived in Victoria, B.C. and now for eight years in Edmonton. For a number of years I had the privilege of working for the provincial Historic Sites Service, developing programs for sites as diverse as Rutherford House, Cochrane Ranch, and Stephansson House.

On a more personal note, my husband Andy works with Alberta Municipal Affairs, and we have two children -- Hana, 11, and David, 3. I collect Depression glass spooners and antique Blue Willow china, and am a recognized palm reader of some repute and am just beginning the endless, obsessive quest known as genealogy with the Alberta Genealogical Society this fall!

I am eager to meet ASA members and try to provide the best administrative service possible for your organization. My phone number is 403-438-6706 and I will be checking messages and returning calls promptly. Contact me by email at agunn@planet.eon.net.
