NEWSLETTER March 1997 Volume 16 Number 4 EXECUTIVE HIGHLIGHTSby Lynette Walton Following the ASA Joint Planning Meeting, the Executive Committee held a meeting on Sunday, February 9 at the Book and Record Depository (BARD) in Edmonton. Due to the resignations of Eileen Hendy as Institutional Member-at-Large and Wayne Murdoch as Individual Member-at-Large, Carolyn Hill and Rick Klumpenhouwer were welcomed to fill these positions. Some of the decisions which resulted from the meeting were as follows: The Annual General Meeting will be held in Red Deer on Saturday, May 3, 1997; and the Institutional Forum will be held Friday evening, May 2. These meetings will be preceded by two concurrent workshops top be held on May 1 and 2. Upcoming vacancies for the positions of Vice-President and Secretary will be advertised in the Newsletter. There will be several resolutions to amend the Bylaws relating to membership in the ASA and composition of the Grants Committee. These must be sent to the membership at least 21 days in advance of the Annual General Meeting. Archives Week will be September 29-October 4, 1997. The position of Archives Advisor will be filled as soon as possible. The Records Management Project for the ASA's records will be re-advertised. |
