UPCOMING VACANCIES ON THE ASA EXECUTIVE

Institutional Member-at-Large - to be elected at the Institutional Forum on Friday, May 2, 1997 for a two-year term.

Duties include:

• Chair of the Grants Committee
• represents the Society at the meeting of the Canadian Council of Archives (in Ottawa)
• chairs two institutional forums
• acts as a liaison to a standing and/or select committee at the request of the president (currently the position acts as liaison to the Public Awareness & Advocacy Committee)
• duties and special projects as required by the Board.

Vice President - to be elected at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 3, 1997 for a two-year term.

Duties include:

• discharges the duties of the President in the President's absence
• acts as a liaison to a standing and/or select committee at the request of the President (currently the position acts as liaison to the Education Committee).

Secretary - to be elected at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 3, 1997 for a two-year term.

Duties include:

• clerk of the Board and attends all meetings and records all facts and minutes of all proceedings in the books kept for that purpose
• gives all notices required to be given to the members and to Directors
• custodian of all non-financial records belonging to the Society
• maintains an up to date list of the members of the Society and their addresses
• acts as a liaison to a standing and/or select committee at the request of the President (currently this position acts as liaison to the ANA Task Force).
