October 10-12 in Madison, Wisconsin, the Midwest Archivists will hold their annual conference. For information contact Tim Spindler in Madison at 608-264- 6447.

October 17-20 in Banff, the Alberta Museums Association annual conference will be organized around the theme "Taking Control of Our Future: Entrepreneurial Museums". To register contact the AMA office in Edmonton at 424-2626.

October 17-18 in Grand Junction, Colorado, the Society of Rocky Mountain Archivists and the Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists will hold a joint meeting. These two groups represent archivists, records managers, historians, museum personnel, and genealogists from Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona. The theme of the meeting is "Will there be anything left to archive?" For more information contact Steve Fisher in Denver at 303-871-3428.

December 6-7 in Calgary, a course of the ASA Education Program, "Acquisition, Appraisal and Selection" will be held. For more information contact Rick Klumpenhouwer in Calgary at 403-244-5510.

February 27-28 in Calgary, the Archives Society of Alberta will present a symposium on compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for municipalities, universities, school systems and hospitals (known as the MUSH sector). For details, check your December Newsletter.
