Moore family fonds. -- 1838-1973. -- 1 m of textual records. -- ca.3400 photographs : prints, transparencies, negatives. -- 10 photograph albums (ca.1000 prints). -- ca.25 motion pictures. -- The Moore family were residents of Banff, Alberta and Yoho Valley, British Columbia. Col. Philip A. Moore, 1879-1951, was a guide, soldier, lecturer and publicist. Pearl Brewster Moore, 1889-1973, was a homemaker and tourist lodge operator. Daughter, Edmee Brewster Moore (Reid), 1908-1971, was a homemaker and wife of Charles Reid. -- Fonds consists of seven series: I. Philip Moore, [ca.1882]-1964; II. Pearl Moore, 1890-1973; III. Philip Moore Philip Moore series. -- [ca.1882]-1964. -- 34 cm of textual records. -- 732 photographs (406 transparencies, 234 prints, 92 negatives). -- 2 photograph albums. -- 13 motion pictures. -- Series consists of three sub-series: A. Personal papers and photographs, 1897-1964; B. Professional papers and photographs, 1905-[ca.1950]; C. Volunteer activities, 1935-1945. Personal sub-series pertains to college career, personal life and activities, and estate. Professional sub-series pertains to military career and research, writing and lecturing. Volunteer activities sub-series pertains to involvement with the Jubilee Committee and National War Finance Committee, Victory Loan program. -- Constitutes Series I of the Moore family fonds.
II. Pearl Moore Pearl Moore series. -- 1890-1973. -- 21.5 cm of textual records. -- 156 photographs : prints. -- Series consists of three sub-series: A. Personal papers and photographs, 1990-1973; B. Legal and financial papers, 1908-1971; C. Volunteer activities, [1940?]-1942. Personal sub-series consists of photographs, letters, diaries, notes and notebooks, and other material. Volunteer activities sub-series pertain to involvement in the Banff-Jasper Spitfire Fund, the Red Cross and other wartime work. -- Constitutes Series II of the Moore family fonds.
