Nordic Combined, combines ski jumping and cross-country skiing. Has been included since the first Olympic Winter Games in Chamonix in 1924. 3-man team event was introduced at the 1988 Calgary Games. A new scoring system was added in 1988, and is still used, where competitors were seeded in the cross-country portion by their results in the ski jump portion.
