Most visitors coming to Jasper have had a family photograph with this most favourite bear. Canadian cartoonist James Simpkins created Jasper the Bear while he worked for MacLean's Magazine. Jasper made his debut in 1948 and was Canada's most popular bear in to the late sixties.
