Memorial Service held for Jewish members of the Armed Forces held in Edmonton in 1946. Pictured from left to right are Rabbi Abraham Postone, of the Beth Israel Synagogue, Mr. H. A. Friedman, and Rabbi Jacob Eisen, of the Beth Shalom Synagogue, who served as a Chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces. Eleven Jewish Servicemen from Edmonton and Northern Alberta gave their lives in defence of their country during World War II: Mandel Bloomfield, age 21; Irving W. Garfin, age 28, Leonard Gold, age 28; Samuel Goorevitch, age 21; Hyman Greenberg, age 23; Ben Levine, age 23; Moie Marder; Alex Podolsky, age 25; Allen Rodd, age 24; Harry Uretsky, age 26; Morley Wachnow, age 23.
