Baby be Well; In Defence of Alberta

Caregivers in Child Health and Baby Clinics continue to immunize children, screen them for diseases, conduct physical exams on infants, and provide new mothers with important information on infant and child care. Nurses also visited mothers and children in their homes and provided health information by telephone. In 1995, the Local Board of Health was absorbed by the Capital Health Authority. Capital Health continues the Edmonton Local Board of Health's legacy of protecting residents of Edmonton and the surrounding area from illness by educating new mothers and providing health care for babies and children.
